I took this image of a bicycle parked on the sidewalk in downtown Toronto in 2005. The original colour picture is in this gallery, and I took it because of the - to me at least - amusing juxtaposition of the bike and the pizza store, in that the colours of the bike are almost identical to the colours of the store. Since then I have come across other bikes parked in circumstances I found unlikely, or amusing, or ironic. When I worked regularly in the city I rode my own bike to work - a Bottecchia, an Italian racing bike I bought in 1977 and which is still almost original in its construction; only the tires, brake pads and chain have been replaced. I have not yet taken a photograph of my bike.
